SWANAGE & WAREHAM 50pts SWINDON COLLEGE OLD BOYS 19pts

Swindon College Old Boys were the visitors to Bestwall last Saturday, as Swans had won away last October were hoping to complete the double.

After the first minute Swans took the lead as centre Leon Esera found a way past the defence of the

Old Boys to put Swans 5pts up. The play was pretty even until a penalty put Swans into the visitors 22, and a move by Swans all the way to the winger had Olly Dillon scoring half way out. Full back Matt Spencer converted.(12pts-nil). After half an hour the Old Boys reduced the arrears with a catch/drive move in the corner. Swans were quick to replay before half time as once again Leon Esera scored a try in the corner.

Half Time Swans 17pts Old Boys 5pts.

Early after the interval Swans had a scrum on the visitors try line and wing forward Matt Roberts

went clear to score out wide.(22pts – 5pts). With ten minutes of the half gone, a penalty to Swindon took them into Swans five metre line, and with another catch/drive move put Old Boys up to 12pts. From thereon it was all Swans on the offensive. Winger Harry Spyers was first on the scoreboard with a chip over the defenceto score a try under the posts. Spencer converted(29pts – 12pts). After 60 minutes Spyers ran clear again for another try which Spencer converted.(36pts – 12pts). After 65 minute the replacement winger Waisea Ravonokula scored from a move all along the three-quarters out wide, but fly half Steve Woolley converted to take Swans upto 43pts. With five minutes to go once again from a scrum close to the Old Boys line Matt Roberts was on hand to score his second try. Woolley converted taking the score to (50pts- 12pts).

Two minutes later a penalty to Old Boys took them into Swans 5 metres line and once again a catch/drive move enabled the opposition to score a converted try giving Swans the double by 50pts – 19pts.

This result moves Swans upto fourth place in the league as Yeovil lost.
