Swanage & Wareham welcomed Yeovil to Bestwall in the first game of the new year, and after losing narrowly in the away game earlier, on in the season, Swans were looking for some revenge.

It did not start well for the hosts, for in the first two minutes Yeovil were awarded a penalty which took them into Swans 22, and from a catch/drive move the visitors scored a try in the corner. Swans then moved into the Yeovil half and put pressure on the visitors defence but

could not score. The game was evenly matched during the first half, until a penalty to Swans in the last minute had fly half Matt Spencer slotting the ball over so the half time score was Swans 3pts Yeovil 5pts

Swans started the second half with a penalty goal by Spencer taking them into the lead at 6pts – 5pts

but some poor tackling down the side of the field after seven minutes of the half had Yeovil re-taking the lead with a try in the corner.(6pts – 10pts). Swans came back with a couple of penalties taking them into the Yeovil 22,and a quick move had full back Rory Ferguson scoring close to the posts. Spencer added the extras.(13pts – 10pts). It was mostly Swans on the offensive and after 62 minutes from a scrum close to the Yeovil line Swans no.8 Marcus Seaton powered his way over the try line.(18pts-10pts). From a Yeovil penalty which did not reach touch, Swans full back Rory Ferguson took the ball in his own half, broke clear, shrugged off three tackles and scored a try under the posts for a fine individual score. Spencer converted (25pts- 10pts).With ten minutes to go a move along the backs by Swans, had replacement winger Harry Spyers sprinting clear to score close to the posts for Swans bonus point try. Spencer added the extras (32pts- 10pts). In the last 5 minutes Swans conceded a couple of penalties, and from a line out Yeovil managed a consolation try leaving the score Swanage & Wareham 32pts Yeovil 15pts.
