What a brilliant day. Today showed what the sport of Rugby is all about. Over 400 people at Swanage and Wareham RFC enjoying the sunshine, watching three games of Rugby and celebrating the life of Andy McMinn. In the morning, before the start of the games, Andy's ashes were scattered across the pitches of Swanage and Wareham RFC and Lytchett Minster RFC, witnessed by his family, close friends and officials from both Clubs. As it should have been, everyone who wanted to play in the memorial game was split into two teams and the team that played in the Swanage and Wareham colours scored more points than the team in the Lytchett Minster colours. Not that that mattered as there was only one winner and that was Rugby Football! After the games had finished a raffle and auction took place where £3,500 was raised with all of the money going towards the Royal Marines Charity and Forest Holme Hospice. An absolutely fantastic effort by everyone involved.
