GAME v WALCOT

SWANAGE & WAREHAM 12pts WALCOT 16pts

Swanage & Wareham entertained Walcot, who are second in the table, to Bestwall last Saturday, and in a tight match where the defences dominated Swans were unlucky to just pick up a bonus point.

The point of interest was after 7 minutes when a penalty outside the visitors 22 was narrowly missed by Steve Woolley. A few minutes later a move by Swans backs took them into the Walcot and from

a scrum a break by second row George Climie bypassed the Walcot defence for his first try of the season, under the posts. Steve Woolley converted to give Swans a 7pts advantage after 16 minutes. Both sides had chances to improve their scores, but the defences were good with both sides tackling well until in the 36th minutes a penalty to Walcot was put over the posts to make the half time score Swans 7pts – 3pts.

Walcot came out in the second half, with a penalty into Swans 22 and after a few phases, and a scrum on Swans line forced their way over the try line for a converted try.(7pts – 10pts) after 45 minutes.

5 minutes later Swans gave away a penalty in their own half but from 45 metres Walcot full back converted to take Walcot up to 13pts. Swans made progress through the three quarters, but Walcot backs resisted until Swans gave away a penalty on the hour mark which was put over.(7pts- 16pts). Swans made progress, but Walcot held firm until with 3 minutes to go a scrum and several phases on the Walcot try line Swans powered over the line with wing forward Jonny Blackmore claiming the try. Final Score Swans 12pts Walcot 16pt
