SWANS GAME v YEOVIL

Swans had to make the short journey to play their latest Southern league game and after

an indifferent beginning got into the game and came away with a comfortable victory.


Swans got started with a scrum on the half way line, and the ball was passed along the three-quarters to winger George Crouch who scored a try after 4 minutes. Ed Dimarcio converted. From thereon Swans started to give away penalties, letting the home side back into the game. They scored from two penalty attempts making the score 6pts – 7pts after 15 minutes. However a move by Swans after 23 minutes had George Crouch going in for his second score out wide. Four minutes later a switch move by Swans had George Crouch going in for his hat – trick of tries. Will Slack added the extras(6pts- 19pts) Swans had another move by the backs this time to the opposite wing when Ollie Dillon went round to score under the posts. Slack converted. Yeovil were not finished, and a penalty took them into Swans 5metre line and with a catch/drive move they scored in the corner with 5 minutes to the break.Half Time score Yeovil 11pts Swans 26pts.

Swans started the second half with a couple of penalties taking them into the Yeovil 22, and a move along the three-quarters to winger Ollie Dillon going in for a try in the corner.(11pts – 31pts). A series of penalties to Yeovil in the next ten minutes put Swans on the back foot, but Swans defence was good. A penalty to Swans relieved the pressure and a mistake by Yeovil had scrum half Olly Peters scoring half way out putting Swans on 36pts. After 65 minutes a move by the hosts along the backs had them scoring a try in the corner which was converted making the score 18 – 36. Five minutes later Swans increased their tally as replacement winger(on for Crouch) Sam Bowen forced his way over the try line. Another penalty took Yeovil back into Swans territory, to score a converted try after 74 minutes to make the score (25pts-41pts).

From the restart a knock on by Yeovil resulted in a scrum, the ball was passed along Swans backs to winger Ollie Dillon who went in for his hat – trick of tries. Slack added the extras. In the last minute the ball came out to centre Ed Dimecio who went over close to the posts. Slack converted leaving the final score Yeovil 25pts Swanage & Wareham 55pts.
