Swanage & Wareham welcomed Royal Wootton Bassett 2nd XV to Bestwall last Saturday, and after an indifferent start, Swans took over in the second half to come out with an easy victory.

After just two minutes Swans gave away a penalty in front of their own posts which RWB converted. After the first scrum, Swans knew they had the advantage, and from a scrum inside the RWB the ball was moved to Swans centre Leon Esera , who scored under the posts. Steve Woolley converted.(7pts – 3pts). RWB played the kicking game putting Swans under pressure and from a kick

Under the posts the ball bounced backwards to a RWB centre who touched down.( 7pts – 10pts) after 15 minutes. Swans replied with a Steve Woolley penalty goal to even up the score.After 25 minutes a typical try from winger Harry Spyers put Swans 5pts ahead and ten minutes later Leon Esera went in for his second try, leaving the half time score Swans 22 RWB 10pts.

Two minutes into the restart, a scrum to Swans in the RWB 5 metres line had Swans no.8 James Casey touching down out wide.(27pts - 10pts) A kick ahead by RWB had them in Swans 22 and a converted try giving RWB 17pts. Swans started putting the ball out to the three – quarters and after 55 minutes Harry Spyers finished off a backs move. On the hour mark, from another scrum close to the RWB posts replacement prop forward Jack Jenner worked his way over the line. Woolley converted (39pts – 17pts).Replacement winger Matt Spencer was next on the scoreboard, running through the RWB defence to

score half way out.With 5 minutes to go Swans other centre Will Slack picked up a ball and scored out wide to bring the score to Swanage & Wareham 49pts Royal Wootton Bassett 2nd XV 17pts
